The Punic wars, also called Carthaginian wars took place between 246BC and 146BC.

The origin of the conflicts arose with the position that Rome acquired as protector and leader of Italy. There were three wars, and finally, after seven days of terrible bloodshed, the Carthaginians surrendered ending with the destruction of Carthage in 146BC.

Besides, the 50.000 Carthaginians that had survived were sold as slaves.
