Even though he wasn't a good swimmer, Brent always wanted to go snorkeling. Now that he was
vacationing in Hawaii, it was the perfect opportunity to see astounding sea life. After renting his snorkel
mask and fins, he set out with his family to find the perfect beach and snorkeling spot. He had dreamt of
snorkeling since he was a young child and heard the story of Gene the Goldfish. Finally, after driving
around the island for an hour, they found what they were told was the ideal place to see incredible sea life.
Brent quickly unpacked his gear and started off for the sparkling blue-green ocear! He felt
exhilarated when his toes hit the refreshingly cool water. Anxiousness and excitement filled his body as he
realized he was finally getting to swim with the fish. As he paddled around the bay, Brent observed
rainbow-colored fish and schools of spiny creatures swirling about. He was having the time of his life.
Just as he was about to head back to the beach, he noticed a huge green blob paddling toward him.
Astonished, he turned to his right and saw that a gigantic sea turtle was quickly paddling his way. Upon
first impression, Brent was thrilled for such an opportunity to see an endangered species; however, he
soon noticed that the turtle's large prehistoric mouth was gaping open. After taking one quick last glance at
the magnificent creature, he quickly swam toward the beach. Sitting on the warm, soft sand, Brent
reflected on his first memorable snorkeling experience.
