This agreement falls within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The agreement at this convention was to reduce the temperature emitted at a global level to an average of 2° Celsius or an equivalent of  3.6° Fahrenheit.

The ultimate goal however is to attain a limit of 1.5° Celsius or its equivalent of 2.7° Fahrenheit. When these goals are reached our climate will be restored and living things will have a better chance of survival.
