1. Well, its hard to say because we don’t know what was going through that man’s head. Personally I would say he couldn’t be appeased. For example there was the land given to hitler in agreeance that he’d stop invading Europe — unsurprisingly, he invaded Poland and overturned that agreement. So personally I believe he wouldn’t have been satisfied, at least not for a long time.
2. This is a really hard one... The reason the United States bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki was because the Japanese were refusing to surrender. While the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed hundreds of thousands of people, some argue that it actually prevented them from continuing to fight the U.S. Some even state that if the Japanese continued, they would have continued fighting until the last person. It is a truly tough question, because it still killed so many people.
