Find the slope of the line that passes through each pair of points. (8, 10) and (-7, 14)

Sagot :

Answer: -4/15

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a slope is: [tex]y_{1} - y_{2}/x_{1} - x_{2}[/tex]

You can basically use the y and x values of the both of these equations interchangeably (10-14) or (14-10)  and you can get the same answer. However, the order you put in the y values, the x values must follow (if you do (14-10) for the y portion, then the x portion has to be (-7-8))

You just plug in the y values on the top, the x values on the bottom and solve!

1) Plug in your values (10-(14)/8-(-7))

2) Open up your parentheses (10-14/8+7)

3) Solve -4/15

These problems are mostly plugging in stuff so if you know the equation by heart, it becomes super easy :D
