One of these meanings is that a person who is outside a system, looking from the inside, has a panoramic view of the entire system and can gain advantages in trying to operate it because of his superior knowledge. This meaning can be compared with the story presented in "Mowgli's Brothers" where Mowgli through the cognitive capacity that humans have is able to understand the behavior of wolves and reproduce them, being considered a worthy member of the pack.

Another meaning is that which says that a person who is outside observing the internal part of a system, may be experiencing social exclusion, where it is not accepted and undergoes hostility by a marjoritary group.
