Think of an organization (business, religious institution, volunteer organization, sports team) with which you have been involved. Imagine outfitting it with an IT infrastructure. Prepare a plan for what you would do to support outfitting it. Draw a map of a network connecting all the individuals, give them PCs and printers, and lay out the design as best you can. The purpose is to begin working with these concepts, not to build a perfect network.
Has the student included people, PCs, Servers, an Internet link, and network connections?
The student's work should demonstrate the relationship between elements in a network map. For example, people use a desktop; the map should clearly demonstrate that relationship.
Does the map include servers that provide computing resources to multiple users?
Does the map include connectors between the desktops, servers, and the Internet link?
Does the map include graphics or clip art of the network elements?
Does it include other devices such as printers?
Does it include the network map for an organization connected to this organization?
Is the project well-organized and neatly presented?
Does writing use proper grammar, correct spelling, and appropriate punctuation?
Is research used with proper references and source citations?
