Students can experience the Visual Arts at Weston in a variety of ways:

  • By enrolling in one of the traditional Visual Art courses offered from
    grades 9 through 12, where the emphasis is placed on drawing, painting,
    sculpture, printmaking and art history
  • By studying Photography, including both traditional darkroom and digital
    media photography as well as the history of photography
  • By taking a Computer Design course, where students use computers to create
    logos, posters, CD covers and other print applications
  • By enrolling in Computer Multimedia and learning to use software to create
    images for comic books, graphic novels and animation
  • By studying Media Arts, where students learn to use a variety of digital
    and traditional media to comment on the world around them
  • By joining the Visual Arts Club and participating in a variety of extracurricular
    art activities

To succeed in Visual Arts at Weston, students should recognize the importance
of regular, prompt attendance, an organized art binder brought to all classes,
the history and analysis components of all courses and the completion of
all homework assignments.
